Kindness Blooms is a campaign run by Vermilion Outreach School students. It will run from Nov. 12th to the 25th. The goal of the project is for the school and students to become more connected within the community, and to raise awareness of the kinds of things going on throughout it.
One of the main projects is a partnership with Cornerstone Co-op that shares the campaigns name, Kindness Blooms. People write down something kind someone’s done for them around the community, and stick it on a poster board to give a physical representation of all the kind things going on throughout Vermilion. The idea behind this project is that sometimes it can seem like nothing good is happening, so having a board to actually show those good things can help pick you up and inspire people to help within the community.
Throughout the school year we also do many smaller projects, such as going to neighboring businesses and handing out treats on Halloween, helping sort presents for Santa’s Anonymous, or even going over and helping read with the grade 1’s at VES. All of these small and large projects are done to get us connected in the community, to help us learn new skills, and to do our part in helping the community grow.
